Our newest little cheerleading arrived this morning (June 3rd, 2009) weighing in at 6lbs 12ozs.  We welcome little Olivia Lyn Young to the world and the CCC.  Thankfully, the black going home onezee with the pink pompoms on it will suit now.  Congratulations to Coach Deb, Brian and Brett on wee Olivia!  Which I still think should be SHolivia but whatevs.  ;o)

Wrapping up the CHEER year...

So, we have a new team!   Congratulations to everyone!  Also, a special congrats to our new Captain Kelly Miller and our Co-Captain Nikki Steep.

We still have a couple weeks of practice and we want to cover the basics so we still need your commitment and focus.  Also, we strongly suggest everyone attends Mustang cheer camp in August.  We cannot make this mandatory as you the members of the team fund this, however, ask past cheerleaders how invaluable this experience is to learn from the National champs for almost 3 decades.  Also, PCA gym.  A MUST.  We will be going down again in the fall and we are so looking forward to gaining more experience and learning from Trace, the Black Falcons (Go Falcons!) and Mustangs (Go Stangs!)  These two teams we hold close to our hearts because they are 'local' , they are amazing helpful and supportive and we've been cheering with help from Trace since the coaches were cheerleaders.  Don't start doing the math...nevermind how old we are.  ;o)  Anyway, we are SUPER stoked to get back in September, get some professional choreography in place and get rolling!  We will continue to update this site (as well as our Facebook group) as more information comes rolling in.

Again, congratulations on a great year and congratulations to all who will be joining the CCC!

And last but certainly not least, A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to Kelly, Laurie and Christina for all your help AND all the parents for ALL you support and encouragement of these girls (and coaches), we could not do this without you!!!

GO COUGARS!

Great work this year girls!  AND great 1st place win at Canada's Wonderland.  It's not so much the trophy for me as a coach, but to see the numbers and how much you improved since last year as the Redmen.  You came up over 50 points!   We ALL learned a lot this year and will continue to do so!  Enjoy try outs, enjoy Mustang Camp and come September we have a brand new set of surprises for you! Each one of you should be proud of your individual accomplishments and VERY proud of your team!  Job well done!

We will soon have a new little Cougar joining our team!!!  Which makes two in the last 6 months thanks to Coach Finchy having Austin in Feb! Wishing Deb, Brian and Brett the best of luck with the delivery of their little one.

Cheers!

T Minus 5 days...

Clinton Cougars Posted by Clinton Cougars at 06:29 AM on April 14, 2009 Comments comments (2)

The biggest competition for this club is in 5 days.  OCF Provincials.

So I sit here and I think of this past cheer season and everything the team has been through.  First and foremost, we became the CCC instead of the Redmen.  We've been 'moved' from our gym practice times, practiced in hallways, and drama rooms, not to mention we started with 25 or so girls, then lost 2.  Then we had 2 guys join. Routine revamp.  Then we lost 2 more girls, then lost one guy.  Revamp routine.  Then we lost another girl RIGHT before Regionals.  Routine revamp.  Then we went to regionals and were kindly told "GREAT job, but drop a level".  Revamp routine.  Then we lose our last guy which changed our category status for Provincials, another revamp, have one toe surgery coming up and a girl willing to learn a routine in two practices.

So, sitting here thinking about how the team will do Saturday at Provincials???  To me, it doesn't matter because you are all winners in my book.  Each and person that has stuck it out this year with our ups and downs is a winner!  You have all come together as a team, during good and bad times and this will make you successful, not only on Saturday, but in life.  Because you all dedicated yourself to your team, you've worked harder and longer then any other team has, and you have a winning spirit.  I think you all have learned this year that PREPARING for competition is much harder then competing!  It's over half the battle. Take this with you next year and remember, to work hard at preparing the routine is the key.  Our best advice this year was "You win it on the floor, not in the air".  Once we all came together, with PCA's help, we got there.

So, take a minute to think about what your team went through, how far you've come and what you've overcame to get where you are.  The end results on Sat./Sun are just numbers and I want you to remember that.  What's important is when you come off that mat and say "That was a BLAST!  It was worth it all the hard work, time and energy."

Just wanted you to know we're proud of you!  GOOD LUCK and bring it CCC.  We know you can.  Keep it CLEAN, sharp and no one hits the mats...you know this routine, you've got this.  smile

CCC website and my first blog!

Seems like this took forever but...

Here it is, the CCC website.  It will always be a work in progress no doubt, but it's a start for us.  Constructive FEEDBACK always welcome but give me a couple months to find my "webs" ways!  AT LEAST give me to after this cheer season is over!

You'll find this blog spuratic to say the least.  Some days I'll (we'll) feel like venting, giving kudos, and just having thoughts come out our little finger tips!  So check back every now and then to see if you can figure out the method to your coaches madness.  OR, if you have a subject you feel needs discussed, and is for public knowledge, let me know and I'll post it here!  We'll discuss as a team, whether we want a forum or not, being we have FB not sure we need it.

Comp in three weeks...BRING IT.
