Expectations and Obligations from the Cheerleaders (and their parents)
Failure to comply with any of the expectations and obligations may result in dismissal from the team.
In addition to all the practices and competitions, a Clinton Cougars Cheerleader (CCC) will have other duties which they will be required to perform throughout the year. These duties may include, but are not limited to: parades, exhibitions, demonstrations and fundraising.
ATTENDANCE TO PRACTICE IS MANDETORY: We expect athletes to be in practice attire and ON TIME. If you will be absent we ask you call well in advance, as this affects the whole team. Injured athletes are asked to come and watch (within reason) as there may be changes that directly affect you. Continuous failure to attend practice (without excused absence) will result in disciplinary action and/or dismissal from the team. If the weather gets bad during the school day, please expect a call or message from your coaches, captain or co-captain.
UNIFORMS AND PRACTICE ATTIRE: Comp uniforms and bags are the property of the CCC. Practice attire will be, BLACK spank shorts, white t-shirt or tank top and PROPER white running shoes. (call coaches for more info) Hair is to be up in a pony tail or pinned back with a brett INCLUDING bangs. ABSOLUTELY NO JEWELLERY. This includes any piercings.
LEADERSHIP: Each member must be aware of the responsibilities required and the commitment they are making to the team. Athletes must cooperate and be helpful to their coaches and teammates, and realize the manner in which they conduct themselves directly reflects on the entire team/club. This means at practices AND at all competitions. Each member shall encourage and cheer on other teams. If any member is derogatory to another team or its members, you will be immediately dismissed from the CCC.
INTERNET: No member will post any negative comments directly related to the CCC it’s members, coaches, or anyone involved on ANY chat board, blog, or any other media or website, or post pictures to said sites that reflect our team poorly. This is justification for IMMEDIATE dismissal. The facebook group page will be monitored and only upload pictures/videos AFTER getting permission from one of the COACHES! ABSOLUTELY NO CCC routine videos are to be on You Tube or said sites.
PARENTS: A great amount of time and energy will also be asked of the parents/guardians in providing transportation to and from all activities and in other miscellaneous functions during the year including volunteering, chaperoning and assistance with fund raising, as there is with any extra curricular activity/club. However, we hope to give you information in advance so we can organize car pooling. We ask that you have your child to practice on time and attendance is mandetory. If one person is missing it affects the whole team. We understand illness/injuries occur but if they are capable of coming and watching to see changes or edits to routine, they still come. ALSO, please ensure your child bring water and a light snack.
FUNDRAISING: There is a large cost incurred with competition cheer. So fundraising/donations are imperative and all Cheerleaders will have a minimum to raise, each fundraiser. Fundraising activities are to raise money for extra uniforms, equipment etc. The coaches volunteer their time and are NOT paid. All fundraising money goes DIRECTLY TO THE CLUB.
